LDH ( Lactate dehydrogenase level )
Rate: Rs. 200
Sample
Serum of the patient is used to determine the LDH levels.
LDH is an enzyme present in the cytoplasm of cells.
Significance
Measurement of LDH activity is used to screen for the liver ,muscle, and myocardial disease.
Abnormal values are seen:
1.Liver disease.
2.Neoplastic disease.
3.Pulmonary infarction.
4.Myocardial infarction.
5.hemolysis.
Normal 94—250 U/L
In myocardial Infarction Peak level is at 48 hours, then slowly returns to normal.
LDH levels is raised in lymphomas and liver cell necrosis.
